Finance Graduate Scheme

London
, Graduate Placement

We are looking for sharp and motivated individuals who can use their logic and intellect to help us beat cancer sooner.

At Cancer Research UK (CRUK), we are collectively leading pioneering life-saving research in the fight against all cancers. Innovative science, dynamic business capabilities and bold marketing strategies combine in a world class centre of scientific excellence. Our Finance team strives to support CRUK to achieve its vision and goals by providing insightful decision support and management information. We serve as an advocate to our supporters to ensure that we safeguard and maximise the value of their donations. This drives everything we do. Graduate opportunities at CRUK are unique. With income in excess of £600million – largely from our own fundraising – CRUK’s commercial strength is equivalent to a FTSE 350 company. We have an international reputation for funding innovative research, so are perfectly positioned to train the leaders of the future.

As a Finance Graduate you will have the opportunity to develop a diverse range of skills, working in a fast-paced environment, in business critical roles, across the 3-year programme. For example, you will have the opportunity to:

  • work with the business to transform their strategic objectives into financial budgets and forecasts, making the most of our donations to fund high quality research;
  • help produce the annual report and accounts, to inform our supporters of our achievements;
  • analyse and report on the organisation’s performance against our objectives both financial and non-financial, providing senior management and the board with the insights they need to steer us in the right direction.

To succeed as a graduate you will have a passion for CRUK and will want to be involved with the whole organisation to help us reach our goals. You won’t be afraid to think big and try new ideas and you will always be looking to learn from the people around you. We put graduates in challenging and exciting roles from the off, so we are heavily invested in your development so you can become a future leader at CRUK. The Finance stream differs to the others as you will undertake 3 distinct placements throughout the full 3 year cycle. This is to give you an opportunity to see the whole finance lifecycle each year and throughout this we’ll support you to study for a professional accountancy qualification and gain the relevant experience to become qualified. This will give you the tools to support the organisation in areas such as financial management and performance, financial accounting, business management, strategy and risk.

Every day we achieve extraordinary things by being sharp, brave and united in our work. If you think you can help us beat cancer sooner, then apply now!

Closing date: Sunday 3rd December, 23:55

At CRUK we value diversity and we’re committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone is able to be themselves and to reach their full potential. We actively encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and cultures and believe that a diverse workforce will help us to beat cancer sooner.

Please note, from 2019 we will be relocating from our offices in Islington to a new office space in Stratford, close to the Olympic Park.
